Therese Chan

Therese Chan is a first-year MSc student in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa. Her work focuses on using data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging to establish the prevalence of emerging risk factors (e.g. hearing impairment, environmental factors, etc.) among individuals with incident dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and develop a risk prediction model for dementia and MCI using these novel factors and other previously established risk factors. Having completed an undergraduate degree in Translational and Molecular Medicine at uOttawa, Therese hopes to bridge her past molecular biology background with her current epidemiology and data science training in future career endeavors.
