Jerry Öhlin

My research field is physiotherapy, and I am specifically interested in gait speed, physical activity, cognitive function and dementia development in people at or above 80 years of age. My first paper found that the association between gait speed and cognitive function is influenced by walking aid use and dementia. My second paper investigated the longitudinal association between gait speed and gait speed decline and dementia. In my third paper I investigated the validity of a physical activity questionnaire for people at or above 80 years of age. My fourth paper will investigate if self-reported leisure time or occupational physical activity in mid-life is associated with cognitive function or dementia development in late life.
