Doctoral student, School of Health Policy and Management, York University
Elias Chaccour is a doctoral student at York University’s School of Health Policy and Management. Elias has extensive expertise in health administration and policy development in the spheres of chronic disease management, patient navigation, and palliative and end-of-life care. As a member of the “Imagining Age-Friendly Communities within Communities” project, Elias is investigating how Arab immigrants experience aging in Canada and how they create meaning through social, cultural, and familial connections. Elias hopes to add to the scholarly knowledge of aging through the prism of immigration status, ethnic identity, and traumatic experiences.
