Fernanda Hackenhaar

I am Fernanda Hackenhaar, a Brazilian postdoctoral researcher in the longitudinal population-based Betula project in Umeå – Sweden. My main objectives are investigating prediction biomarkers of cellular aging and age-related cognitive decline, neurodegeneration, and dementia in this 25-year follow-up study. Markers such as telomere length and DNA methylation are the focus to date, but several relevant health-related, lifestyle and demographic covariates are also relevant in the study. Research and development of preventive medicine strategies, focusing on healthy aging, are my main interests.
